Yesterday’s Post

I feel the need to explain my last post. I do not hate dealing. If I had to go out tomorrow and look for another job and I was skilled in several (I used to be a cocktail waitress, also a bartender, also a legal secretary, also managed a deli, also worked for a phone company years ago, and a Sears store, I help people with computers too), and of all the occupations I can think of that I would like to tackle, dealing is my first choice. I don’t hate the job, never have, but I’ve seriously disliked some of the personalities that gather around it. *Wratha - that should answer your question*

It’s the terminal time clock that bothers me. I had visions of escaping the time clock and traveling to new poker adventures whenever the breeze changed and my mood went with it. Of those new adventures, I even harbored the idea of taking a week or a night or a month in the dealer’s box in some new port just for the sport of adventure and writing about it in Tango. I believe the majority of mankind wants the freedom to come and go and not have to be at the terminal time clock the rest of their life. I’m definitely not alone in that desire…read the comments on the previous post and check out Monkey’s comment and a lengthy one by another dealer (so true my friend).

My take on someone wishing me back in the box is my own selfish reason and I do understand why people wish me back in the box, I just wanted one little moment in time where I screamed in defiance, hence the last post.

I understand working for a living, I’ve been there all of my adult life, I would never wish that on anyone. The greatest part of not being tied to a time clock is FREEDOM! It’s not work that bothers me, I’m always working at something, it’s structuring my life around something that carves a huge chunk out of something I find so precious, my freedom. So forgive me please, for coming across as harsh and hateful in the last post, and I hope all of you achieve instant financial success and have your freedom’s served to you on platinum platters with never ending wine pours in the finest crystal made specifically for you.

LET FREEDOM RING! *glasses clink*

All fine and well, but what about all those people that have been standing on their heads in a bucket of shit since yesterday?

  2. Linda R. Geenen Says:

Absolutely, totally, gut busting hysterical. Still laughing.

  3. Jordan from HighOnPoker Says:

It sounds like you and I share a similar philosophy:

"I love my job. I just hate working."
