Dan and I hit the Orleans on Saturday for their first NLH event.  I made it about 3 1/2 hours before trying to run over Q-Q with 9-9 and I was out.  Dan made it about 7 hours.  Tomorrow we are going back to give the LH event a whirl.  For the first time in a long, long time, I’ve actually settled down and decided that I would devote a day to playing poker.  It was very enjoyable.  I have a lot to learn in the NLH tournament arena but really didn’t feel badly about any hand I played and the way I played it.

Let’s see…an old nightmare revisited, Gaudin Ford - they are first on my ‘never return’ list - for anything - especially a sincere customer service attitude. I never have a good experience with them, having bought two trucks from them, and purchasing their service policy, etc., one would think they might even be a little more concerned - about anything.  But they aren’t. I’m sorry to say that A-A and Q-Q bit the dust for my hero, my horse, my son Dan.  I feel that he played quite well and didn’t do anything I wouldn’t have done…he even got off the Aces.  I love his poker attitude and I would send him in to vanquish the table villians with my money, any day, so that says a lot for how I feel he plays.  (more…)
