The Horse people came to town
Monday, December 17th, 2007and brought a few friends. Those horse people are my brother and his wife from N. Idaho. You can find them - on horseback - in this post, just cruise down to the thumbnails. They arrived on Tuesday, called me on Wednesday, and we did some hanging out together. We went to Bellagio’s buffet and it was a true food orgy for them. Sorry, I’m kind of buffet jaded and only enjoy going to one about every four to five years…NO CHIT! They get old. Bellagio’s is one of the best in town and we spent more than an hour or so there as they grazed and we gabbed.
More of my Blogging buddies and buddettes
Saturday, December 15th, 2007I did snag a few pictures, even though they were snorty/snotty about it from management side. I posted in the PokerWorks forum about the first hand I won in the blogger tournament, mainly because I do like to have input from people on playing, especially since I’m trying to develop my online skills for the Chasing Chris project. And because I’m serious about improving my play…really, really. (more…)

Chip Reese’s voice has ended
Monday, December 10th, 2007Katie Lindsay has a final interview article with Chip, talking about the difference in play and poker behavior, life behavior, between Phil Ivey and Stu Ungar. It’s a must read. For one thing, Chip pretty much states how I’ve always felt about Stu Ungar’s poker play…and really, I get tired of hearing how Stu was such a great player when I had him throw cards in my chest after he took a beat and then ran out of the room. Phil Ivey never behaves that way, but then neither did Chip. Greatness is only a state of mind, usually by those that think they are.
Farewell and Hello
Saturday, December 8th, 2007Today was farewell to Chip Reese. His memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, the 7th. I debated going; since funerals are a strange subject for me to even begin to tackle, I won’t. I was given the information of the time and place and told that it was for my information only, no one else’s. The next thing I knew, I received an email from someone that must have wanted the world to know as it wasn’t a private email, it was a submission email. That email truly cemented my decision to NOT go. I felt it would be a total zoo and too many people would be there for it to even be close to sharing a farewell moment with others.
