All dressed up and

cake in my hair…OH NO! It seems like yesterday that I watched her being weighed in, measured, and bundled into a tiny ball in a blanket and thrust into my arms where I got to experience her very first sneeze in life.

She looks adventurous and ready to run but she is only willing to take a few steps before she settles onto all fours and scoots across the floor on hands and knees.

And the cake part?  Too damn funny.

Riot went with me.  Katie has a sister named Amy that’s the same age as Riot.  They had a few territorial wars, including ’sister’.  Funny how those territorial wars stand out throughout our lives.

I did manage a small slice of cake that didn’t have Katie fingers in it first.  But I’m not sure how well I’m managing the fact that time just keeps its eternal control on everything.
