Early a.m. Vegas settled in to watch the last noise the Stardust will ever make. My sis and I had taken a drive through an industrial area on Highland, just past Cheetahs, across the tracks from the freeway, a few days before and also cruised Industrial Road - Industrial runs right behind the Stardust property. Once we’d set our location/viewpoint, we figured to be camera ready by about 1:30 a.m. (more…)
There’s really nothing left but a skeleton; like a dried, empty, long horn skull that dotted the cattle trails of the old west, the Stardust sits silently, forlornly empty and devoid of all decoration, waiting to be blown away into the ever changing landscape of Las Vegas history.  (more…)
The glorious day of implosion and losing more Las Vegas history is set for March 13, 2007 at 2:30 a.m. I’m still trying to figure a way to watch it without being right in the dust zone and stuck in a million other bodies that are going to be there. I watched the Sands go down and in those days the digital camera wasn’t.
