Mike should be nominated for an oscar

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Hello $10-20 NLH, must move, and hello Mike. I’ve dealt to Mike before and to say he’s excitable and a real crowd pleaser would be an understatement. He does gamble. He does get vocal. He tips very well. And I don’t know anyone that plays poker with him that doesn’t like playing with him. (more…)

*BTW – this isn’t about tipping*

Friday, May 4th, 2007

It’s about leaving the game from the dealer’s box, and although tipping is mentioned, it’s not the meat of what’s going on. When I leave a game, it’s my standard habit to quietly say, “Thanks everyone, have a good night.” I don’t clap my hands to show I’m not stealing chips (it’s not necessary in poker), I don’t say, “Good luck everyone!” or make a lot of racket to hint for a tip as I leave, or hang out to see if the player that won the last pot I dealt is going to remember me…I just quietly get up and push out of the box. Bellagio’s tournament is over

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

but poker certainly isn’t. And for those of you that aren’t already playing online, click a banner on the left, do the download thing, and jump in the action. The all new TonyGPoker will be up soon. It’s one of my favorite places to play but until things change in U.S. legislation, I’m pretty much running at UltimateBet. And UB has Roshambo? Yup! (more…)

Things I could write about…

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

Since I’ve been such a slacker, there are a lot of things that I could put down here. Some of them aren’t worth mentioning, some are funny, some are not so damn funny. (more…)

I’m the problem

Friday, April 13th, 2007

Want some whiskey in your water
Sugar in your tea
What’s all these crazy questions they askin’ me
This is the craziest party there could ever be
Don’t turn on the lights, ’cause I don’t want to see – Mama told me not to come – Lyrics by Three Dog Night

Sam Angel

Saturday, March 24th, 2007

Sam has left us. He won’t be missed by me because I never had the opportunity or desire to search through his harsh verbal assaults to look for a soul. The article reports that he had no known survivors. That can’t even be close to true, the whole damned poker world is out there, some of us as tribute that we did survive him. If you are a poker player, someone, somewhere, always remembers you and survives you. RIP Sam.

“I work here.”

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Sort through the endless possibilities of thoughts that run through the average human’s mind in a five minute time span, put them together in a poker table environment, mix in poker hands and whip until volatile, throw in mass amounts of chips for effect, add one dealer (that would be me), heat with a blow torch until the mix explodes, and that’s how I felt my night went. Return of the Rudes

Monday, March 19th, 2007

Of course I got to deal to Karate Don again. Somewhere in a dark cave, buried in the bowels of Death Mountain, there’s a stone tablet that contains certain rules of dealing. The first one is: Thou shalt deal repeatedly and continuously, night after night folding into countless eons of bad experiences to the same player that you had a problem with the night before, on into time eternal. Karate Don

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

Does he really know karate or practice it? Who the hell knows? How did he end up with that name? Who the hell knows! I’ve been dealing to Don since somewhere in mid Mirage days. He’s got a reputation as a steamer and being a bit demented. His eyes even take on that strange look at times; you know the look, the one where you expect him to detonate the entireplanet just to get one person. And if he reads here, no problemo from my side. The long and grinding week

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Another week has slipped away into one of the slow grind categories. I’m dragging ass. I played on shift one of the four nights that I punched the Time Clock last week. (more…)
