and a bit more. We had a nice turnout of eight players. Nonsensible joined us after a long absence – and ClearSpine made it. Nice! Charlie (ccmac) showed up but he was too late to get in. I was drastically ill. I made it to 3rd due to the good graces of the Card Fairy being on vacation. This is how it played down:

It’s everywhere. You can’t find a bare spot on the poker reporting shelves and every little scent of news becomes big news – even if it’s not newsworthy – and ends up on the web, in a magazine, in a newspaper, or a blog. Go figure that once all of the bad beats have had the shit beat out of them by airing them everywhere – and hand history reports are pasted, posted, discussed – what else is there to talk about that hasn’t been aired? Not much…the next new tournament that’s springing up in outer JunkVille? (more…)

when Hughes.net shut down my satellite stream to a trickle is kinda sad in a way. I probably shouldn’t have even went back to find out where I placed but I did. I had over 5K in chips when I went into the dead zone. There were 1014 of us and I finished in 207th place. Then I checked to see what my last hand was…Aces…No KIDDING! Of course you just get auto folded out of the hands when you are sitting out. (more…)

Some poker, some craziness with life, and more poker. I have to tell you that I think Scotty Nguyen should be sent somewhere far from the rest of the poker world and live his life out knowing that he’s not good enough to play with anyone. His attitude sux. But then it always has. Don’t just take my word for it, here’s some prime reading and I bet there’s more out there on the internet about his disrespectfully rude ass. It pains me that Chino Rheem would just GIVE him the title without a fight and how sick is that that Scotty is willing to pay more to get it? I think Chino should have played him for it, damn it! Sure, I’ve been eating with a fork again…nah, just kidding! If I can’t get it into my mouth with my fingers, I don’t eat. That’s a just kidding also. Poker is kinda frustrating. I watch beats hit other people continuously and I’ve gotten to a frame of mind that has helped me slip past most of my own ugly irritations with someone snapping me off. I still swear, but not all the time and not as much. It’s been a seriously frustrating few days of poker. I’ve made the money twice – not enough to make up for anything – and I’m still running like a dead nag heading for the soap factory. (more…)

the PokerWorks Family HORSE went off quite well, but extremely quiet. It was…almost subdued in the chat area and I blame that on djhomeshool not showing up. He’s usually quite gabby. Clearspine barely squeaked into a seat – he was enjoying fine dining created by his daughter – just before the tournament started. Grupper and I were signed up a day or so ahead of the start time. Thanks Grupper!

While stopping yesterday’s update at the end of the ceremony, that wasn’t the end of the wedding trip. As people milled around and hung out for a bit, some getting pictures of Gracie and Sweet Pablo back in the chapel, David Westbay had a bag filled with wedding cake.

like I’ve never won one but they are still fun. The HORSE Tourney ended up with nine of us showing and surprise, surprise, surprise, Alcanthang was one of the contestants. Super Nice! We had the regulars, JB, PokerHack, Me, Grupper, and Cat came back, as did the crazy kid with the podcast – Mr. djhomeschool himself, and Alexe55 – tea drinker extraordinaire, and Katie. (more…)
